Aubree and Justin’s story began long before they started dating. “We actually went to preschool together,” Aubree said with a smile. They went to the same school all through high school, but never really connected.
That changed in 2019, when they both started working at a local coffee shop. “I worked the morning shift and Justin worked the evening shift,” she explained.“I slowly started hanging around the store for a couple extra hours every time he worked.” Eventually, they began hanging out after work, and the rest came naturally.
For Aubree, the moment she knew came during a road trip in 2022. The two spent three months traveling in an old camper, exploring national parks and living simply.
“It was so much fun, but there were quite a few struggles,” she said. “We didn’t have running water, electricity, air conditioning, and our truck kept breaking down.”
Even with the heat, the setbacks, and a few scary moments — including getting robbed at gunpoint — Aubree found clarity. “Being away from home and constantly on the move made me realize that home was with him,” she said. “No matter the situation, it was always okay if we were safe and together. That’s when I realized he was the one.”
Their engagement story feels straight out of an adventure film. In September 2024, while camping in Washington, Justin proposed during a mountain hike.
“He proposed when we were going for a hike, on top of a mountain! It was beautiful and I was not expecting it at all,” Aubree recalled. The view was breathtaking, but the moment itself became a memory they’ll never forget.
The couple tied the knot on September 26th, 2025, at Bavaria Downs in Chaska, Minnesota, surrounded by family and close friends.
“Overall, wedding planning was a lot of fun,” Aubree said. “At first, it was great and super exciting. Toward the end, it got a little more stressful since there’s so much to coordinate and think about.”
She had a clear vision for their day, and seeing it all come together made the effort worth it. Of course, not everything went exactly as planned. “During the ceremony, I put Justin’s ring on the wrong finger!” she laughed. It was a sweet, funny moment that broke the tension and reminded them both to enjoy it all.
When the ceremony finally arrived, emotions ran high. “So much happiness,” Aubree recalled. “And quite a bit of relief since I was so nervous the hour before the ceremony!”
Their vows reflected the heart of their relationship: simple, honest and steady. “They focused on being there for each other through the difficult times in life and flourishing during the fun and exciting ones,” Aubree said.
After nearly six years together, the two already shared a deep sense of commitment. “Honestly, we both agree that being married feels about the same,” Aubree said. “Marriage makes things sound a little more serious, but our mindset and love for each other remain the same.”
As someone who admits to being a bit of a perfectionist, Aubree offered advice for future brides and grooms: “Try not to overthink things! Everything will turn out and be beautiful. Even if something doesn’t go exactly the way it was supposed to on your wedding day, no one will know and it will be okay.”
Her biggest tips? “Trust your vendors. Be on top of communicating with everyone (vendors, wedding party, family). And on your wedding day, take a moment to take everything in, relax, and have fun.”
